block party

The two day local/indie music-fest known as The Capitol Hill Block Party once again takes over south Capitol Hill, Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26. This year's fabulous line-up includes more than 50 bands on four stages (think DeVotchKa, The Hold Steady, Vampire Weekend). Come celebrate some of the area's best up-and-coming and established alternative and independent bands.

olivar opening in july

Foodies rejoice--the rumors are true! Seattle Weekly reports that French chef Philippe Thomelin and his wife Toni, owners of Olive Street Catering, will be opening their newest endeavor, Olivar in the Loveless Building this month. Spanish for "olive grove", the bistro will feature a Spanish-infused and French-inspired menu. Salud! More details...
